…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST SATURDAY…

  • WHAT…Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to
    6 inches in the most persistent lake snows.
  • WHERE…A portion of Northern Erie county, south of a Buffalo to
    Lancaster to Alden line. Much less snow accumulation in the
    northtowns.
  • WHEN…Until 10 PM EST Saturday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel will be difficult at times with snow covered
    roads and poor visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If
traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and
visibilities.

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST TUESDAY

  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 7 to
    14 inches
    .
  • WHERE…All of western and north central New York.
  • WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Tuesday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas
    of blowing snow along the south shores of Lake Ontario and
    Lake Erie. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday
    morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel
conditions.

LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST
THIS EVENING

  • WHAT…Heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow. Additional
    snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches in the most persistent
    lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce
    blowing and drifting snow in open areas.
  • WHERE…Erie and Genesee counties. Greatest accumulations will
    be from South Buffalo and the nearby southern and eastern
    suburbs to Genesee County.
  • WHEN…Until 10 PM EST this evening.
  • IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover
    on roads and very poor visibility within the lake effect snow
    bands. Travel conditions will vary widely across the region.

    of 9 to 16 inche
    s in the most persistent lake snows. Winds
    gusting as high as 40 mph will result in considerable blowing
    and drifting snow.
  • WHERE…Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming counties.
  • WHEN…From 4 PM Friday to 10 PM EST Saturday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of
    blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
    hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
