AKRON POLICE BEAT

APRIL 27, THRU MAY 3, 2020

04/27 – A property damage accident was investigated at Buell and Jackson
Streets, two vehicles were involved.
04/28 – A medical alarm was reported on Westgate Avenue, it was accidental.
A Mechanic street resident reported receiving annoying text messages,
they were advised.
04/29 – An alarm was reported at a Bloomingdale Road business, it was accidental
by an employee.
A suspicious person was reported on Townsend Street. Patrol checked the
area with negative results.
A domestic dispute was investigated on Shepard Avenue, no charges were
filed.
Patrol checked on the welfare of a Wesley Drive resident, on concerns of
their family. Everything checked okay.
Patrol assisted a citizen with a property dispute, they were advised that it
is a civil matter.
04/30 – A fire alarm was reported on Main Street, it was caused by burnt food.
05/01 – Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Shepard Avenue.

A custody dispute was reported on Cummings Road, they were advised.
Trespassing was reported on Hoag Avenue, patrol will make frequent
checks of the area.
A fire was reported on Main Road, it was a campfire.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Meahl Road.
05/02 – A fire alarm was reported on Buell Street, it was caused by an electrical
issue.
Patrol responded to a Westgate Avenue residence for a first-aid call.
A suspicious incident was investigated on Lewis Road, no problems were
found.
A fire alarm was reported on Westgate Avenue, it was caused by burnt
food.
05/03 – A disturbance was reported on Shepard Avenue, one subject was
transported to the hospital for evaluation.

04/13 – Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Clinton Street.
04/14 – A suspicious incident was reported on Pearl Street, no problems were
found.
04/15 – A car/deer accident was reported on Crittenden Road.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Main Street.
An alarm was reported on Hoag Avenue, it was accidental.
A fire alarm was reported at a Cedar Street business, it was caused by a
faulty sensor.
A car alarm was activated on Thistle Downs, no issues were found.
Patrol responded to a Shepard Avenue for a first-aid call.
04/16 – A disturbance was reported on Wesley Drive, the subjects were advised.
A suspicious occupied vehicle was reported on Skyline Drive, they were
advised.
04/17 – Patrol responded to a Westgate Avenue residence for a first-aid call.
A custody dispute was reported on Cummings Road, they were advised.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on East Avenue.

04/18 – Patrol checked on the welfare of a subject on Cedar Street, on the
concerns of a family member. Everything was in order.
People were reported violating the “social distancing” rule in Akron Falls
Park, it was unfounded.
A suspicious person wearing a costume was reported on East Avenue. The
subject was located, advised and returned home.
04/19 – A porch fire was reported on Cedar Street, it was very small and was
extinguished.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Randy Drive.
