Mary E. Wukman, 95 of Akron, passed away peacefully on Thursday (October 28, 2021) at the Elderwood of Williamsville Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born in Akron, NY on May 8, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Skocic Wukman.
Mary was born on the family farm where she would reside for her entire life. Many would remember her from the vegetable stand she operated on Main Road in Akron. After graduating from high school, she began a career as an executive secretary for the Fred E. Thomas Insurance Agency in Akron where she worked until her retirement. She was also a devoted member of St. Teresa’s Church.
She is predeceased by her siblings, John Wukman, Anna Miller and Rose Hodgins.
Survivors include her sisters, Catherine Gorman of Clarence and Millicent Rosenberg of Georgia. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great great-nieces and great great-nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are cordially invited to share in her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday (November 8th), 10:00am at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 5771 Buell St., Akron. She will be laid to rest in St. Teresa’s Cemetery.
