AKRON POLICE BEAT JULY 5 thru JULY 18, 2021

07/05 – An Akron woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license, when
she was stopped on Main Street. She was released on appearance tickets.
A Newstead woman was charged with DWI, when she was stopped on
Parkview Drive. Her vehicle was towed and she was released to a sober
person on appearance tickets.
07/06 – Illegal parking was reported on Main Street, one car was tagged.
Found property was reported on Church Street, a bicycle was turned over
to patrol.
An alarm was reported on Oak Street, everything appeared secure.
07/07 – A property damage accident was reported at John Street and Madison
Avenue, a tractor trailer truck took down a cable line.
A person was reported missing from Bloomingdale Road, they were found
and returned.
Disorderly youths were reported at Russell Park, they were advised.
07/08 – An alarm was reported on Jackson Street, it was accidental by an employee.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Brodies Way.
Two juveniles were charged with assault after being involved in a fight on
Bloomingdale Road. They were petitioned to Family Court.
Disorderly youths were reported at Russell Park, they were advised and
ejected.
A telephone pole was reported on fire on Buell Street, the fire dept. was
notified.
Disorderly youths were reported on Newton Avenue, they were gone
when patrol arrived.
07/10 – A property damage accident was reported on Lewis Road, a mailbox and
lawn were damaged.
Patrol responded to a Buell Street residence on a first-aid call.
07/12 – A domestic dispute was investigated on Buell Street, no charges were
filed.
Traffic enforcement was conducted on East Avenue, no violations were
reported.
Disorderly youths were reported at Russell Park, they and their parents
were advised. The youths were also banned from the park.

Disorderly youths were reported in Akron Falls Park, they were playing
basketball. They were advised of the park hours.
07/13 – The traffic signal at Main and Crittenden Roads was malfunctioning, the
D.O.T. was notified and repaired.
An unwelcome guest was reported on Westgate Avenue, they were given
a courtesy ride.
An alarm was reported at a Main Road business, everything appeared
secure.
07/14 – Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Westgate Avenue.
Erratic operation was reported on Crittenden Road, the vehicle could not
be located.
Disorderly youths were reported in Akron Falls Park, the were ejected.
07/15 – An Akron man was arrested on charges stemming from an assault that
occurred in Lancaster. He was turned over to Lancaster police.
Patrol responded to a Westgate Avenue residence on a first-aid call.
Patrol assisted a group in Akron Falls Park, they were having a party for
special needs children.
Patrol assisted a motorist locked out of their car on Parkview Drive.
An open door was reported at a Knapp Road business, everything appeared secure.
07/16 – Erratic operation was reported on Buell Street, the car was gone when
patrol arrived.
A teenager was reported as a runaway from Bloomingdale Road, they
were located and returned safely.
A suspicious person was reported on Westgate Avenue, everything
checked okay.
A landlord/tenant dispute was investigated on John Street, they were
advised.
A Westgate Avenue resident was bitten by their dog, the DCO was
notified.
07/18 – Patrol checked the welfare of a Cummings Road resident at their families
request, everything was okay.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Colony Place.
