The Erie County Department of Senior Services is working with the Akron-Newstead Senior Center and with Rite Aid to help those 16years and older can access the COVID vaccine. The Akron-Newstead Senior Center will be serving as our next host site NEXT Friday, April 9th.
We are scheduling appointments in 5 minute intervals, so please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your appointment time (but not earlier). We will have paperwork for you to fill out and you will need to bring a photo ID with date of birth (driver’s license) and both your insurance AND prescription cards. If you are on Medicare, bring your red, white, and blue card.
The morning of your appointment please check your temperature—we will check it again at the clinic and if it is over 100 degrees, you cannot receive a shot. We also recommend that you wear short sleeves, or something that you can easily roll up as the shot is given in your upper deltoid.
The Akron-Newstead Senior Center is located at 5691 Cummings Rd, Akron, NY 14001. Please enter through the main doors of the senior center and you will be directed where to go.
The vaccine that is being used is the Pfizer vaccine and will require a second vaccine, which will be administered 3 weeks from the date of your first shot at the same location and at the same appointment time (Friday, April 30th).
