Akron, NY – Hearts and Hands: Faith in Action has received a $9,000 grant from the Pappalardo Family Foundation to expand the capacity of its programming in Akron, NY. This grant has been provided to help Hearts and Hands in assisting those who are wheelchair bound within the community.
Executive Director of Hearts and Hands, Aaron Carlson says, “Thanks to the generosity of the Pappalardo Family we are able to address an unmet need in the community. This funding will allow us to provide 300 additional rides a year for folks who are wheelchair bound.”
The assistance will be provided in the form of transportation to and from medical appointments, social activities, grocery shopping, and places of worship. Wheelchair transportation services will be provided from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
