It’s not just our Governor picking on us, or trying to ruin business. The COVID issue is a worldwide problem that seems to be getting worse.
It is well documented that when the Spanish Flu (that didn’t even start in Spain) went round in 1918, the second wave which started in November was much worse than the first wave and killed many more people. Why?
One reason is that World War 1 ended on November 11 (Veterans/Armistice Day), troops came home from overseas, and the city of Philadelphia in particular had huge victory parades against the guidance that was out at the time. People were sick of being cooped up, they were jubilant that the war was over, and huge crowds packed the city. Thousands of people became infected and it spread even worse than before. Cities that did not have parades and such did much better in controlling it.
What significance does this have now?
It is November, we are facing a second stage of lockdowns here in the USA, not just here. So, I got a little list of links together of restrictions that are going into place here and around the world. It is far from complete, but it shows that we aren’t the only ones in the thick of it and that things are getting worse around the world right now.
