“Down Went Alice” will compete for top prize in the Unproduced Screenplay Category
AKRON, New York, August 11, 2020 – Writer and filmmaker Kristen Skeet’s screenplay DOWN WENT ALICE has been chosen as a Semi-finalist at the 2020 Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival.
Script synopsis: A troubled young musician, daughter of two rock stars from a massively successful rock and roll band, struggles to come to terms with her childhood when her parents embark on a comeback tour with disastrous consequences.
DOWN WENT ALICE will now compete for the top prize in the Unproduced Screenplay Category.
In 2019, Kristen’s debut film MURDER CREEK premiered to a sold out crowd at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival. Kristen was also awarded Filmmaker to Watch at the festival’s annual Dreamer Awards.
Written and directed by Skeet, MURDER CREEK went on to win Best Horror Short, Best Actress, and Best Screenplay at the New York Long Island Film Festival and was a Finalist at the Olympus Film Festival in Los Angeles.
DOWN WENT ALICE is the film adaptation of Kristen’s debut novel of the same name released in 2016. The 2020 Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival takes place August 27 through September 3 at The Screening Room Arts Café in Amherst, New York. All screenings will adhere to strict Covid-19 public health guidelines including reduced capacity, mask wearing, and social distancing. Tickets available at the door.
