Rotary Happenings February 2020

Rotary is the world’s first service club organization and is dedicated to humanitarian service advocating goodwill and peace around the world and in local communities. There are 30,000 Rotary clubs worldwide made up of 1.2 million members. The Rotary Club of Akron Newstead is one of those clubs.

*The annual Rotary Pancake Breakfast will be Palm Sunday, April 5 at the Akron
Fire Hall. Proceeds will go to our ACS scholarship program that has helped
hundreds of local students over the years. Make plans now to attend this fun
Spring event.

*The club’s newest members are Leah Bisson of Independent Health and Julie
Pappalardo, founder of “The Newsteader”.

*After a program presentation by Linda McQuiston, local representative of the
non profit organization “Rise Against Hunger”, the club decided it will assist
with their work. “Rise Against Hunger” is an international hunger relief
organization that distributes food and life changing aid to the world’s most

*We wish Paul Palizay owner of Yogi’s all the best with the expansion into the
Akron House building. At a recent Thursday morning club meeting Paul briefed
members on Yogi’s transition and plans.
