KENNETH A. ROGERS of Akron, at the age of 89 on July 29th, 2019.

Husband of the late Shirley M. (nee Walters) Rogers.

Father of Sharen (Robert) Posenjek and Laura (James) Carlini.

Grandfather of Katelyn and Timothy Posenjek and Joshua Carlini.

Visitation Monday 3-7 p.m. at BERNHARDT FUNERAL HOME, LLC., 130 Main St.; Akron (542-9522).

Friends are invited to join the family for the services to be held at the First Baptist Church of Akron, 122 Main St. on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.  Burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.

Mr. Rogers was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, the WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association and the National Rifle Association.

AKRON FOR THE WEEK OF 07/21/2019 TO 07/27/2019

A 911 hang up call was received on Wesley Dr. It was accidental.
The Dog Control Officer responded to McNeely Rd for a report of a dog bite.
Police assisted with a neighbor dispute on Main Rd.
Multiple youths were ejected from Akron Falls Park for jumping off the waterfall.
First Aid responded to Randy Dr for a male with low blood pressure.
The Fire Department responded to Stage Rd for a fire alarm activation.
A burglar alarm was activated on Hunts Corners Rd. It was set off in error.
First Aid responded to John St for a male having trouble breathing.
Deputies and Police arrested Eric Parker, 43 of Akron on an outstanding warrant on Main St. During
the arrest Parker was found to be in possession of Cocaine. He was charged with Criminal
Possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest after he attempted to flee the scene during
the arrest.
Police took a fraud report on Rapids Rd.
A burglar alarm was activated on Stage Rd. It was false alarm.
A burglar alarm was activated on Buell St. It was a false alarm.

Deputies responded to Wesley Dr for a report of a disturbance. One party involved was charged with
menacing for threatening someone with a baseball bat. The subject was held at the Erie County
Holding Center pending arraignment.
First Aid responded to Lewis Rd.
A burglar alarm was activated on Stoneridge La. It was a false alarm.
Police assisted with a trespass complaint on Crittenden Rd.
A 911 hang up call was received on Rapids Rd. It was a misdial.
A two car motor vehicle accident was reported on Hunts Corners Rd. Minor injuries were reported.
A one car motor vehicle accident was reported on Maple Rd. A vehicle left the roadway and got
stuck in a ditch. The driver failed multiple roadside sobriety tests and was charged with Driving
While Intoxicated. They later registered a .18% Blood Alcohol Content at the substation.

First Aid responded to Davison Rd for a female with a head injury.
Deputies assisted with a neighbor dispute on Holly St.

JULY 22, THRU JULY 28, 2019

07/22 – Disorderly youths were reported in Akron Falls Park, they left before
patrol arrived.
A child was reported missing from Bloomingdale Road, they were found
safe and sound.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Randy Drive.
07/23 – Patrol assisted the Sheriff’s Office in apprehending a wanted subject on
John Street.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on John Street.
07/24 – An alarm was reported at a Buell Street business, everything appeared

Animal cruelty was reported on Newton Avenue, it was unfounded.

The purpose of the evening was to express our appreciation for the tremendous support our community has given to Rotary. The work of helping people would not be possible without your generosity! Over 400 complimentary hot dogs and beverages were served.
