Tire Drop Off Event Changes

Akron/Newstead Tire Drop Off is April 27 from 9-Noon.  There are some changes you all need to be aware of:

Last years permits are no longer valid.

This year you must furnish a valid driver license and/or proof of residency in Akron/Newstead at the event.

You must also provide a signed Tire Drop Off Certification with the tires you are dropping.  These have been mailed to residents.  If you lost yours, go to Town Hall and get one.

ALL “over the limit” fees MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE AT NEWSTEAD TOWN HALL prior to event.  Don’t lose your receipt because you need to bring it with you to the event.

Here is what you can drop off:


8 regular sized tires up to 20″, that includes golf cart and lawn mower tires.

EVERY tire after the first 8 will be $2.00 per tire with a household max of 16 per address.


20.5″-22.5″   $10 per tire limit of 4 total

23″-24.5″      $13 per tire limit of 4 total

25″-26.5″      $16 per tire limit of 4 total

27″-28.5″      $19 per tire limit of 4 total

29″-30.5″      $21 per tire limit of 4 total

ALL tractor tires  $25 limit of 4 total
