Rehabbing Wildlife Classes Starting

Have you ever found a baby bird, or a den of orphaned baby bunnies and not known what to do?

That is when you call in licensed wildlife rehabbers.  Among the tens of other things these folks do, they take the animals, help them out and eventually release them back into the wild.

AWARE (Association of Wild Animal Rehabilitation and Education) is a non-profit wildlife rehabber in Lockport.  AWARE’s mission is to rescue and care for orphaned, injured, and distressed wildlife, and to educate the public on the various issues regarding wildlife and the environment.  The organization is run wholly by volunteers.

AWARE’s “Rehabilitating Wildlife” classes are going to be held on Saturdays, February 16, 2019 to March 16, 2019, from 10 AM to 1PM at Starpoint Central School Community Education, 4363 Mapleton Rd, Lockport, NY. The cost is $100.00 for all 5 classes. Registration will be available starting Tuesday, January 14, 2019 though Starpoint. https://www.starpointcsd.org/domain/42

The classes are designed to help people interested in becoming a NYS DEC licensed wildlife rehabilitator, and/or obtaining a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Migratory Bird Rehabilitation Permit. -JAP-
