DEC Tree and Shrub Sale Info

 Did you know that you get get your Spring tree and shrub seedlings from the Department of Environmental Conservation?

If you are planning on putting in some trees and shrubs this Spring, here is some info on the Department of Environmental Conservation Spring Seedling Sale.  They offer pages and pages of choices of tree and shrubs with a lot of information like;  what are good pollinators, what grows better near water etc.

The Department of Environmental Conservation operates the State Tree Nursery in Saratoga Springs, which produces tree and shrub seedlings for conservation plantings on public and private lands. Native New York seed-sources are used when available.

The Spring seedling sale is going on right now until May.  the DEC is suggesting that you place your order via telephone: from January 3 through mid-May by calling (518) 587-1120, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. This is the recommended way to order since operators have the latest availability information.

Operators can answer questions or direct you to the proper office for other information. An order will be completed over the phone and sent to you via mail or e-mail for your signature and payment.

For all other inquiries call the Nursery office at (518) 581-1439, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
